Agartala: Uber hits the road in Tripura starting September 3. Transport Minister Sushanta Chowdhury confirmed the app-based cab service will operate out of Maharaja Bir Bikram Airport, plus the Badharghat and Jogendranagar rail stations. He wants better travel options for passengers.
Chowdhury led a meeting at the state Secretariat on Friday to iron out the logistics with stakeholders. The goal remains simple: build a better transit network. During the session, the minister highlighted the state's broader agenda. "Tripura is continuously moving forward with the goal of building modern, safe and advanced transportation infrastructure," Chowdhury noted.
This move plugs a gap in the local transit network. Officials expect the app service to make travel safer and more efficient for commuters across the region.
