Agartala: Tripura is moving to the front of India’s trade strategy. The state is now the primary gateway to Southeast Asia. This shift aligns with Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s Act East vision. It aims to bridge the gap between regional markets and international partners.

Jyotiraditya Scindia, the Union Minister for Development of North Eastern Region, confirmed the state’s role. He pointed to major infrastructure upgrades across the region. Scindia stated that "Tripura is emerging as India’s gateway to Southeast Asia under PM Modi’s Act East vision."

Authorities expect these changes to spark economic growth. Better roads and rail lines will link local producers to foreign buyers. The government plans to keep pushing this plan until trade flows freely across the borders.
