Agartala: Tripura Power Minister Ratan Lal Nath ordered a full-scale mobilization of the state electrical grid ahead of Durga Puja. He chaired a strategy session on October 2 at the Tripura State Electricity Corporation Limited office. Managing Director Biswajit Basu joined the minister and other senior staff to finalize contingency plans. The state expects a spike in power demand as crowds fill public spaces.

Nath pushed for constant vigilance from all crews. He told officials to prioritize major Puja pandals, markets, and high-traffic event sites. The corporation must maintain round-the-clock readiness to handle technical faults or service disruptions before they escalate. Fast response times remain the goal.

The minister cited the high public turnout expected this year. "Large numbers of people are expected to participate in Durga Puja celebrations across Tripura, and we have to ensure adequate manpower, equipment and field-level preparedness throughout the festival," he said. He insisted that control rooms and field teams stay in constant contact to resolve problems the moment they appear.

Staff must work together to avoid consumer inconvenience. Nath remains confident that systematic monitoring will keep the lights on despite the heavy load. The state intends to keep the festival running without a single blackout.
