Agartala: Tripura Chief Secretary JK Sinha wants tougher defenses for state data. He demands constant vigilance and better security systems to guard critical infrastructure. Digital public services generate massive amounts of sensitive info. That data needs protection.

Sinha spoke Tuesday at an Agartala workshop. He urged departments to work together on risk assessments and modernizing old systems. He expects the event to produce solid plans for state resilience. "Cyber security is a key governance requirement that demands coordinated efforts across departments, periodic risk assessments, modernisation of legacy systems and strong data protection frameworks."

The threat is real. Director General of Police Anurag Dhankar says scammers stole over 83 crore rupees from residents in eight years. Police froze 15.43 crore rupees and got 1.50 crore back to victims. Dhankar plans to use workshop findings to sharpen enforcement.

IT Director Jeya Ragul Geshan noted that the state already launched a new security center. This facility monitors critical assets. Officials are also pushing the Tripura Cyber Security Policy to shield government networks.
