Tripura Officials Join Yoga Session Ahead of International Yoga Day

Agartala: Tripura Minister Sudhangshu Das organized a special yoga session on Wednesday for officials from the Fisheries, SC Welfare, and Animal Resources Development departments. The event included representatives from the Veterinary Doctors’ Association and local fisheries offices as part of the preparations for International Yoga Day, which takes place on June 21.

During the session, Minister Das discussed the global reach of yoga since Prime Minister Narendra Modi championed the observance in 2015. He encouraged government staff to incorporate the ancient practice into their daily routines to improve their professional and personal lives.

Reflecting on the purpose of the event, Minister Das stated, "The primary objective of organizing this Yoga session was to convey the message that Yoga is not merely for physical well-being; it also fosters mental growth and mental balance."

The Minister thanked the department directors and secretaries for their support of the initiative. He concluded by calling on all participants to practice yoga consistently and promote its benefits throughout the wider community.
