Agartala: Tripura locked in more than Rs 70,000 crore in investment proposals before the two-day Destination Tripura: Business Conclave 2026. The event kicks off July 9 at the International Fair Ground in Hapania. State Industries and Commerce Minister Santana Chakma confirmed the figure Wednesday. More than 300 business entities are coming.

Chief Minister Manik Saha opens the event Thursday. Union ministers Piyush Goyal and Jyotiraditya M. Scindia plan to join the session. The state government scouted for cash through roadshows in New Delhi, Hyderabad, Bengaluru, and Guwahati. These trips landed 189 separate investment intents.

Chakma said the state wants real results. She noted, "discussions on several additional investment proposals are at an advanced stage and are expected to be finalised during the event."

Representatives from nine countries including Bangladesh, South Africa, and the Philippines will attend. Big names like Tata Consultancy Services, Lulu Group International, and the Jindal Group are also on the guest list. Attendees will focus on IT, tourism, healthcare, and renewable energy. The summit wraps up Friday after a series of business-to-government meetings.
