Agartala: The state of Tripura has initiated a new agricultural push to achieve self-sufficiency in edible oil production. Government official Ratan confirmed that the region is focusing on large-scale oil palm cultivation to meet local demand and reduce dependence on external suppliers.
The move aligns with broader national efforts to expand domestic oilseed farming. Officials highlighted that the cultivation project serves as a key strategy to strengthen local food security. As Ratan stated, "Tripura aims for self-sufficiency in edible oil through oil palm cultivation."
