Agartala: Tripura locked in over 250 deals this week. The state signed memorandums of understanding worth Rs 1 lakh crore during the Destination Tripura Business Conclave 2026. Over 700 delegates gathered at the International Fair Ground in Agartala to hammer out the agreements.

Chief Minister Manik Saha expressed faith in the results. "More than 700 delegates are participating, and more than 250 MoUs are being inked with an investment intent of more than Rs 1 lakh crore. With the proactive support of Team Tripura, we are highly confident that most of these MoUs will be converted into projects on the ground in the near future," Saha said.

Union ministers Piyush Goyal and Jyotiraditya Scindia joined the session. The state claims its GSDP doubled in six years. Officials pointed to new highways, railways, and better internet as reasons for the growth. The government is pushing hard into rubber, bamboo, agarwood, and food processing industries.

Tripura is clearing the path for builders. It introduced a single-window clearance system and trimmed red tape. The state currently holds the top rank for deregulation. With an 856-km border near Bangladesh, the state aims to turn logistics into a major asset. New rail links and bridge projects should help reach regional markets faster.
