Agartala: Tripura’s GB Pant Hospital saw a small rise in patients after the government blocked staff from private practice. The facility remains stable. Despite the policy shift, the expected surge has not arrived yet.

A senior health official noted the trends after the announcement. "If you compare the figures, the number has increased a little bit. There has been no massive change," the official said. Records show 2,400 patients visited the clinic today, just slightly above the usual 2,300 average.

The state has yet to issue a formal written notification for the ban. Officials blamed long lines on heat and a lack of ticket counters rather than a sudden spike in demand. To fix this, the hospital is installing more fans and adding benches for families.

The state plans to hire more doctors to speed up wait times. They will also open two new ticket counters and put guards on the floor to direct the crowds. These changes aim to smooth out the transition as the hospital works to handle its current load.
