Agartala: Heavy rain is hitting Tripura. The India Meteorological Department issued an orange alert for West Tripura, Khowai, Dhalai, and Gomati districts today. Expect extreme weather through July 10. These four districts face the brunt of the storm as weather systems collide over the region.

A seasonal trough stretching from Rajasthan to Bangladesh is driving the moisture. An upper air cyclonic circulation over Assam is adding fuel to the fire. Meteorologists warn of localized flooding and waterlogging. Residents in low-lying areas need to stay sharp. The weather office stated, "The prevailing weather conditions are being influenced by a seasonal trough extending from southwest Rajasthan to northeast Bangladesh."

Rain gauges across the state are already filling up. Chawmanu recorded 139.2 mm of rain in just one day. Lembucherra saw 105.5 mm hit the ground. Kumarghat and Kadamtala also logged significant totals. A yellow warning covers the rest of the state for the next two days as the deluge persists.
