Agartala: Tripura is tightening its grip on public schools. Acting on orders from Chief Minister Manik Saha, the School Education Department launched a wave of surprise inspections. Officials want better classroom results. They are not tolerating slackers.

Secretary Dr. Milind Dharmrao Ramteke led the charge alongside education directors and department officers. The team hit over 60 schools across the state in just a few days. They checked how teachers handle students and if government programs like the Nipun Tripura Mission and PM Poshan actually work.

The inspectors caught several employees sleeping on the job. The state started disciplinary action against those failing their duties. Many teachers received show-cause notices. Others saw their paychecks frozen.

The department punished one Block Resource Person and one Cluster Resource Person for dereliction of duty. Headmasters also faced heat for poor management or failing to cooperate during visits. The department stated that while they aim to motivate, "strict action against negligence is equally important to ensure accountability."

Not every school felt the lash. The team praised educators who showed dedication and effective teaching methods. This monitoring effort remains a top priority for the state government to lift learning standards for every child.
