Agartala: Tripura Chief Minister Dr. Manik Saha arrived in Bhopal this week for the 28th AOMSI Mid-Term Convention and the 14th Postgraduate Convention. The three-day event runs from July 2 to 4. Top surgeons and students from across India gathered to talk shop. They want to master complex procedures.

Saha, a career surgeon, joined as the event's chief guest. Madhya Pradesh Deputy Chief Minister Rajendra Shukla hosted him. The two leaders discussed healthcare and medical training at Shukla's residence. Saha traveled with his wife, Swapna Saha.

The conference theme is "Creating a Wholesome Surgeon." Participants are tackling advanced surgical techniques and new clinical research. Organizers say the goal is to get students up to speed on global standards. The event features paper presentations and hands-on workshops.

Shukla believes the gathering will improve overall healthcare standards in India. He praised the Chief Minister's long medical history. Shukla stated, "The convention would provide an important platform for knowledge-sharing among medical professionals, allowing participants to exchange ideas and stay updated on emerging developments in oral and maxillofacial surgery."

The Association of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons of India, its state chapter, and People's University organized the meeting. It serves as a bridge between high-level research and bedside practice.
