Agartala: Tripura Chief Minister Dr. Manik Saha visited the Office Lane area in Agartala on Wednesday morning to inspect the aftermath of a major blaze that destroyed six shops and a local club late Monday night. During his visit, Dr. Saha met with affected business owners and residents to assess the damage caused to establishments that had been operating for nearly 40 years.
Addressing the severity of the situation, the Chief Minister noted that the fire has caused significant financial hardship for local families. "Such incidents are really painful. Those who have lost their shops can realize it, as these shops used to help them earn their livelihood," he stated during the site visit.
While initial reports suggest a short circuit triggered the fire, authorities are waiting for a formal investigation to confirm the exact cause. Dr. Saha directed the West Tripura District Administration to expedite relief efforts and provide necessary support to those impacted. He committed to government assistance and pledged to personally help the victims as restoration work begins.
The Chief Minister was accompanied by West Tripura District Magistrate and Collector Dr. Vishal Kumar, Superintendent of Police Namit Pathak, and other senior officials. The district administration continues to monitor the area to ensure a smooth recovery process as they work to restore normalcy for the affected community.
