Guwahati: A local construction company is under fire for allegedly hacking apart trees to support new water pipes. The incident occurred in Chaliha Nagar, Tinsukia, at approximately 12:30 am. Witnesses claim Civil Engineers Enterprises Private Limited installed the supply lines and then used freshly cut branches to anchor the pipes into the dirt. They ignored standard supports like bamboo or wooden poles.
Environmental Protection Committee president Rituraj Barua is leading the charge against the firm. He insists the company destroyed greenery that his group previously planted as part of local conservation work. The damage goes beyond the trees. Barua claims the firm wrecked roads and local infrastructure over the last few months through poor planning and sloppy execution.
Barua wants the Tinsukia District Commissioner to shut down the project immediately. He stated, "The company has caused extensive damage to roads and other infrastructure in Tinsukia town over the past several months due to inadequate planning and execution of the project." The firm has yet to answer for the destruction, and the claims remain unverified by outside authorities.
