Kohima: Leaders from the Central Nagaland Tribes Council, Tenyimi Union Nagaland, and the Eastern Nagaland People’s Organisation gathered in Ungma Village on September 26. They came to formally accept land parcels gifted by three local clans. The event took place at the Rongpu Astro Turf.
The Lanusuwa Jamir Clan gifted land to the CNTC. The Shikiyangba Jamir Clan gave to the TUN. The Sentimongba Longkumer Clan donated to the ENPO. The Ungma Village Council managed the transfer. Each parcel measures 100 by 100 feet.
The roots of this move trace back to May 2, 2026. During the 25th-anniversary celebration of friendship between Ungma and Tuophema villages, the clans offered the land. A lottery system decided which organization received which plot. The donation was legally formalized as a sign of reconciliation.
Speaking for the donors, Tatars Imtidongba Jamir, R Nungshilepden Jamir, and Imtisungkum Longkumer addressed the crowd. They stated, "The land donation was an effort to sow the seed of unity among the people of Nagaland." They pushed the groups to start using the sites soon.
Hukiye K Yepthomi, K T Villie, and Y Among Yimkhiung represented the three organizations at the reception. They thanked the Ao Senden and the village council for the support. The leaders hope these sites become hubs for cooperation. They want the organizations to work as one body. Ao Senden General Secretary Imti Longkumer also spoke at the event, which Nungsangtemjen chaired.
