Agartala: Police found three family members dead inside a home in West Muhuripur on Friday. The house is located within the Santirbazar sub-division of South Tripura. Officers recovered the bodies of Shankar Chakraborty and his wife Chhabi Chakraborty in a blood-soaked condition. Their son, Krishna Chakraborty, was found hanging inside the residence.

Personnel from the Baikhora and Belonia police stations arrived alongside the Additional Superintendent of Police to secure the scene. They launched a formal investigation into the deaths. Officials state that forensic examinations and post-mortem reports are needed to determine exactly how they died.

Mithun Chakraborty, the elder brother of Krishna, described the final hours. He said Krishna returned home early from his job at a private company to perform a religious ritual. Krishna sent him to an uncle's house to retrieve a locker key. When Mithun returned, he found the doors and windows locked from the inside. He looked through a rear window and saw his brother hanging.

Mithun entered the home to discover his mother with a slit throat and his father suffering from severe head injuries. He claimed his brother recently entered a court marriage that the bride's family opposed. Mithun alleged, "The woman's family could be linked to the deaths." He also noted there were no prior domestic disputes. Police have not confirmed any theories regarding the sequence of events or a motive.
