Thoubal VDF Welfare Association provides financial aid to deceased officer's family

Imphal: The VDF Welfare Association in Thoubal District provided a death benefit of Rs. 3 lakh to the family of Salam Amarjit Singh, a VDF personnel who died following an illness on June 3. Singh, who held VDF number 1432, was stationed at the Reserved Line in Thoubal prior to his passing.

Superintendent of Police Manoj Prabhakar M. presented the cheque to the officer's widow, Rebika Devi, at his office chamber. The handover took place in the presence of various district police officials, including Y. Shamu, Y. Shankerdash Mangang, and S. Shoba Singh, alongside members of the VDF Welfare Association executive committee.

The organization stated that the assistance was disbursed from the VDF Welfare Fund as part of its ongoing efforts to provide support to families during times of hardship and bereavement. According to the association, these payments are a core component of its welfare measures, serving as a "death benefit" for the families of personnel.
