Kohima: The Tenyimi Union Nagaland (TUN) convened its executive council meeting on May 15 at Shilloi Lake in Meluri. The gathering brought together members and frontal organizations to discuss the preservation of Naga identity and the historical legacy of the national movement.
Advisory board convenor Razouvotuo Chatsu emphasized that the Naga Voluntary Plebiscite serves as a vital record supporting the status of Nagas as an independent nation. He urged those in attendance to honor the foundation laid by past pioneers while continuing to protect their collective cultural and political heritage.
The event featured contributions from several organizational leaders, including Rengma Hoho president Gwasinlo Thong, Chakhesang Public Organization president Vezühü Keyho, and Angami Public Organization president Thejao Vihienuo. Pochury Hoho president Chonpa Jurry delivered the welcome address, while the program included reports, prayers, and cultural presentations.
Beyond the formal meetings, the delegates engaged in community activities. Members participated in an avocado planting project near Shilloi Lake and took time to visit the International Trade Centre located in Avangkhu.
