Tata Electronics and Morigaon District Launch Community Development Programs

Guwahati: Morigaon district and Tata Electronics launched a wide slate of community projects on July 24. They focus on education, healthcare, and job training. District Commissioner Anamika Tewari started the work at Jagiroad College alongside corporate and local officials.

Tewari pushed for local cooperation. "Strong partnerships between the government, industry and local communities are essential for achieving inclusive and sustainable development." These programs aim to build better infrastructure and create new local livelihoods.

Healthcare efforts center on the Mahatma Gandhi Model Hospital to improve hygiene. Tata Electronics also supports tuberculosis care under the PM TB Mukt Bharat Abhiyan. They currently fund 150 patients and plan to add 250 more. The Joint Director of Health Services handed the company a Nikshay Mitra Certificate for their work.

School upgrades hit five locations: Nakhola High School, Bapuji High School, Jagiroad Higher Secondary School, Gopal Krishna High School, and Sahid Lakhi Deka High School. Crews will build toilet blocks, kitchens, and dining areas. They plan to install smart classrooms, STEM labs, and furniture. Students will also gain safe drinking water.

Project Chameli launches to aid women. Ten women from tea-tribe communities get training to lead tea tourism tours. This teaches them communication and boosts job prospects. Both company and government officials pledged to keep working together on these efforts.
