Imphal: The Tangkhul Naga Long Working Committee issued a fierce ultimatum to the Kuki-Zo Council. They want an unconditional public apology. The TNL slammed the council for calling the abduction and murder of six Liangmai Naga civilians a move made out of emotion. These six residents of Konsakhul village were snatched on May 13, 2026. Their bodies turned up a month later.
TNL officials branded the KZC response as insulting. They specifically targeted KZC Chairman Henlienthang Thanglet for calling the victims Kacha Naga. The group labeled this term defamatory and offensive. The committee stated the council's expression of regret was “utterly unqualified and unacceptable.”
The group expects the Manipur government to take control. They demand the immediate arrest of all killers involved in the massacre. The TNL also wants state officials to tear up the Suspension of Operations agreement with Kuki militant groups. They singled out the KNF-P for their alleged role in the violence.
Legal hammers must fall. The TNL wants the government to prosecute KZC leaders for misleading the public during the investigation. They also reminded the state that a December 2024 notification already declared the Kuki-Zo Council a non-existent entity. The committee warned that the government must enforce its own rules to maintain law and order.
