Kohima: St. Savio Higher Secondary School held a combined parents and teachers meeting on July 4. The event focused on the threat of drug abuse. Varkey V. J., a school board member, chaired the session in Chümoukedima.
Razouvotuo Chatsu of the Chümoukedima Village Council urged parents to stay involved in school life. He believes families and educators must work together to raise responsible kids. Wopen Jami from the Diphupar Police Station led a talk on how to spot and stop substance use. He told the crowd that parents must keep a close eye on their kids to keep them safe.
Principal Reji Kuriakose described the school and the home as two halves of a whole. He said, "Parents and teachers to the two wings of a bird, stressing that holistic development is possible only when both home and school work together as One Team, One Mission."
Officials also reviewed new programs for families. This included talk of the UDISE+ database, the APAAR system, and health insurance plans. Parents used the forum to voice their own concerns about school policy.
