Guwahati: A special court in Guwahati is scheduled to hear fresh bail applications from Paresh Baishya and Nandeshwar Bora. The two men, who previously served as bodyguards for the late Assamese cultural icon Zubeen Garg, are currently under investigation by the Chief Minister’s Vigilance Cell for allegedly possessing assets that exceed their known sources of income.

This court appearance follows a previous legal setback for the duo. Both Baishya and Bora had earlier submitted bail requests to the Special Fast-Track Court, but those applications were rejected. Following that decision, the pair filed new petitions with the Special Judge’s Court to seek their release while the investigation continues.

Authorities have not yet reached a resolution in the case, and the court is expected to deliberate on the bail pleas after hearing arguments from both sides. When asked about the ongoing proceedings, sources noted that "investigations into the allegations are currently underway." The court's final decision on the matter is expected to be delivered following the upcoming hearing.
