Agartala: South Tripura District Hospital in Santirbazar is cutting down on medical referrals. The facility just added Intensive Care Unit and Cardiac Care Unit services to its roster. This shift brings high-level treatment to the doorstep of locals.

A team of state officials toured the site on Thursday and Friday. They checked the labs, diagnostic units, and the wards for men and women. The group included Santirbazar MLA Pramod Reang and Health Secretary Kiran Gitte. Health Director Dr. Debashree Debbarma, South District Magistrate Mohammad Sajjad P, Chief Medical Officer Dr. J.M. Das, and Medical Superintendent Dr. H. Mog also joined the walkthrough.

Gitte talked to patients and staff during the visit. He gathered feedback on the quality of care and looked into operational hurdles. The delegation praised the medical team for their work. They noted that the staff members are "working tirelessly to ensure advanced and reliable medical services for the district's residents."

These new units aim to stabilize critically ill patients. Cardiac care will now happen in the district. Officials believe these upgrades make the local healthcare network more efficient and accessible for the public.
