Kohima: A fire ripped through the Supply Colony in Dimapur early Tuesday. The inferno broke out at 2:43 a.m. and destroyed several homes before responders could contain the heat. Fire officials confirmed no injuries occurred during the incident.

Teams from Dimapur West and Central fire stations rushed to the scene with five water tenders. Firefighters managed to stop the flames from jumping to neighboring structures. The department reported that the blaze destroyed four rooms of an Assam type government unit, a private kaccha house, and another single-room government quarter.

Property loss is estimated between Rs. 8 and 9 lakh. West Fire Police Station stated that "preliminary investigations suggest the fire was triggered by a short circuit." Authorities are currently conducting a detailed damage assessment to verify final costs.
