Shillong: Shillong officials are mapping out street hawkers working along GS Road and Motphran. The government plans to move these vendors to new designated spots. Deputy Chief Minister Sniawbhalang Dhar confirmed the identification process is nearly done.
"We are almost finished identifying them so that we can determine which sites to allocate to them," Dhar said. The data will dictate where each business moves.
Authorities are also looking at the vending situation in Laitumkhrah. Officials expect to confirm the total number of affected vendors there within the next few weeks.
