Imphal: Security forces conducted a series of search operations throughout Manipur on June 17, recovering a significant cache of weapons and dismantling fortified positions. The coordinated efforts targeted areas in the Kangpokpi and Churachandpur districts as part of an ongoing initiative to restore peace and security in the region.

In Kangpokpi district, personnel operating under the Leimakhong Police Station recovered 11 single-barrel breech-loading guns, nearly 300 rounds of ammunition, and six bulletproof vests. During these operations, police destroyed 30 bunkers and strategic camp sites, detaining four individuals for verification. Additional operations in the same district resulted in the destruction of four more bunkers across Thingphai and C. Kholen villages.

Authorities also reported progress in Churachandpur district, where security teams dismantled unauthorized check posts and bunkers in S. Nabil and Loilamkoi villages. To maintain stability, officials have established 116 checkpoints across hill and valley districts. Regarding the supply chain, Manipur Police confirmed that essential goods are moving safely, stating, "A total of 300 vehicles carrying essential goods were escorted along National Highway-37 to ensure uninterrupted supply and safe passage through vulnerable stretches."
