Sarbananda Sonowal Highlights Role of Youth in India’s Economic Growth

Guwahati: Union Minister Sarbananda Sonowal emphasized the pivotal role of young people in shaping a self-reliant and developed India during a Rozgar Mela in Guwahati on May 23. Addressing the gathering, he described the younger generation as the primary engine driving the country forward under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

Sonowal credited government initiatives like Digital India, Startup India, and various skill development programs for boosting youth confidence and strengthening the national economy. He noted that these efforts are essential for achieving the goal of becoming a leading global nation by 2047.

During the event, the minister praised the government for implementing a transparent and merit-based recruitment process. He stated that this approach has restored trust among job seekers and encouraged more participation in the national workforce.

The program concluded with Sonowal distributing appointment letters to 177 candidates. These individuals were hired for positions across various organizations, including the Indian Railways, the Department of Posts, the Ministry of Defence, Oil India Limited, the State Bank of India, and the Airports Authority of India.
