Shillong: Chief Minister Conrad Sangma will open the Block Integrated Development Complex and the Block Resource Centre at the Sohiong C&RD Block office. The event kicks off July 18 at 9 AM. Sohiong MLA and MDC Synsharlang Lyngdoh will join the Chief Minister for the ribbon cutting. Following the ceremony, Sangma heads to Mawtap Pyllun village, two kilometers away, to host the CM Connect programme.
Separately, the Shillong Municipal Board opens its new Municipal Market at Iewdak, Laban, on July 18. Animal Husbandry and Veterinary Minister Sanbor Shullai serves as the chief guest for the opening. North Eastern Council Secretary SK Bhalla will attend as the guest of honour alongside Shillong Municipal Board Chief Executive Officer PK Boro. They expect a full turnout.
East Garo Hills District Election Officer RP Marak is making a push for electoral accuracy. He opened a help desk in Room 58 of the Williamnagar DC office. Enumeration facilitation centres are now running at the Songsak, Samanda, and Dambo-Rongjeng C&RD block offices. Marak urged voters to check their registration status immediately. He stated, "Citizens seeking assistance with the survey or enumeration forms have been asked to contact their respective booth-level officers or the District Contact Centre at 1950."
