Itanagar: The Human Rights of Arunachal is pressing the state government to set up a special relief fund for victims in Keyi Panyor district. A recent disaster wrecked homes and destroyed livelihoods across the region. Lives were lost. The group wants quick action.
HRA Chairman Kipa Kaha and Secretary General Jesy Debia pushed for the fund on Friday. They claim the existing MLA Local Area Development Fund cannot cover the massive scale of this crisis. The group insists on more help for those struggling to survive.
NEEPCO projects added to the damage. While the Centre may handle corporate liability, the organization maintains both the state government and the company must chip in. "The proposed fund would provide much-needed financial support to families and communities affected by the disaster," the HRA stated.
Local MLA Toko Tatung has already started helping folks in the NEEPCO-43 and POSA areas. HRA officials praised his work but want a broader plan. They are now calling on student groups, faith organizations, and the general public to step up with humanitarian aid for the suffering families.
