Guwahati: A wild elephant stormed through the Kaliabor Tea Estate on Wednesday, September 2. The animal tore into the Line No. 5 residence of Arun Goud during the early morning hours. Everyone was asleep. The beast smashed the home and raided the kitchen, gorging on rice, pulses, and other stored food supplies.
A four-member family lived inside. They barely got out alive. Local residents rushed to the scene after hearing the destruction. They drove the animal back into the wild by setting off firecrackers. The incident sparked fresh fears among the locals regarding the mounting threat of wild elephants. Neighbors are on edge. One resident remarked, "The incident has once again raised concerns among residents over the growing threat posed by wild elephants in the area."
