Agartala: REC Limited is dumping 15,000 crore into Tripura. The state needs better power. The deal went down at the Destination Tripura Business Conclave 2026.

The company signed two major agreements to fix the state grid. REC will hand over 5,000 crore to the Tripura Renewable Energy Development Agency. This cash covers solar projects and green energy goals. They also cut a check for 10,000 crore to the Tripura State Electricity Corporation Limited. This money targets infrastructure modernization to keep the lights on as the economy grows.

Subhendu Roy from REC joined local officials for the signing. Tripura Power Minister Ratan Lal Nath watched the proceedings. The goal is clear. REC stated that the partnerships will "promote renewable energy adoption, strengthen the state’s electricity network, improve power accessibility and encourage greater private investment."

These projects aim to stabilize the grid. They push the state toward a low-carbon future. The investment signals a long-term bet on the Northeast.
