Agartala: The countdown to Durga Puja officially started Sunday morning at Ramnagar Sanghati Club. Members gathered for the traditional Khuti Puja to mark the beginning of preparations. Festivities are already underway.

Agartala Municipal Corporation Mayor and local MLA Dipak Majumdar attended the ceremony alongside club officials. The organizers confirmed a total budget of 35 lakh rupees for this year. The event promises to be one of the city's most elaborate displays.

Construction work has begun on a mandap modeled after the Ramnarayan Temple in Gujarat. Organizers want to merge traditional religious roots with architectural scale. Mayor Majumdar reviewed the project plans and stressed the need for smooth, coordinated logistics during the festival.

The club aims to create a unique aesthetic experience for all visitors. Club members expect the high budget and thematic design to draw significant crowds. Organizers expressed confidence in the upcoming event, noting, "The combination of a high budget and innovative temple-themed mandap will make this year's celebration a special attraction for devotees and visitors alike."
