Imphal: Manipur police arrested a 23-year-old traveler at Imphal Airport on June 24. Officers found 420 grams of suspected ganja inside his luggage during a random security check. The Airport Police and the Central Industrial Security Force handled the bust. Herish Maibam, a resident of Singjamei Wangma Kshetri Leikai, now sits in custody. He was headed out of the state.

Security forces moved on a second target the next day. They scoured an isolated stretch between Phayeng and Tairenpokpi in the Imphal West district on June 25. The sweep turned up three AK rifles and a 9 mm pistol. Officers also grabbed four magazines, 37 live rounds of assorted ammo, and two Baofeng wireless radios. Officials said, "Police are investigating both cases."
