Agartala: Tripura and Gujarat police rescued three teenage girls in Ahmedabad late Tuesday. The girls, aged 15 and 16, disappeared from their Tripura homes on Monday alongside a man named Mukhes Reang. Authorities quickly launched a kidnapping investigation after families filed a complaint at the Ganganagar Police Station.

The group flew from Agartala to Ahmedabad by way of Kolkata. Once the girls left the airport, police scrambled to intercept them. Officers shared photos and travel documents with their counterparts in Gujarat to track the suspect down. ASP Uttam Banik explained the process: "We immediately informed the DIG and IG (Law and Order) and coordinated with Gujarat Police."

Gujarat officers detained Reang and the minors late Tuesday night. A team from Tripura is currently traveling to Gujarat to bring the group home on transit remand. Reang faces kidnapping charges, though officials are still checking for wider trafficking ties.

The girls told police they wanted to find work in Gujarat rather than head back to their families. Investigators are now sorting through the case details. They will follow standard legal procedures once the group arrives back in Tripura.
