Guwahati: A 29-year-old woman was found dead under mysterious circumstances at her rented home in the Milan Nagar area of Dibrugarh on Thursday. The victim, identified as Babita Das, was a native of the Sivasagar district in Assam.

Family members discovered Das unresponsive on her bed and transported her to a local hospital, where she was declared dead upon arrival. The woman lived in the residence with her two sons while her husband worked as a night-super driver.

Reflecting on the discovery, her elder sister stated, "We found her lying on the bed and rushed her to the hospital. The doctors declared her brought dead. She was living in the house with her two sons. Her husband works as a night-super driver. We do not know what actually happened."

The Milan Nagar Police Outpost has launched an investigation following a formal complaint filed by the victim's brother. Authorities are currently weighing multiple possibilities, including potential foul play, as they await the results of a post-mortem examination to determine the exact cause of death.
