Police Investigate Drugging and Robbery of Man in Sikkim Taxi

Gangtok: A resident of Gyalshing district was drugged and robbed of Rs 7 lakh while traveling in a taxi from Gangtok to Tadong. The incident occurred on April 15 after the victim boarded the vehicle, and he lost consciousness shortly after the trip began.

The man did not regain awareness until April 17, when he found himself at the Cuttack Railway Station in Odisha. He sought help from the Government Railway Police there and received medical treatment at a local government hospital.

Authorities in Cuttack initially filed a zero FIR to document the crime before transferring the case to the Sadar Police Station in Gangtok. Officials officially registered the FIR in Gangtok on May 20, and an investigation into the circumstances of the robbery is currently ongoing.
