Imphal: Manipur Police arrested two Kuki leaders over the July 11 mob violence and arson at Kanto Sabal. A joint task force of state police, Army, CRPF, and RAF apprehended the men near Leimakhong.

Officers took 65-year-old Hengjang village chief Kammang Lhouvum and 30-year-old Pagin Hangshing into custody. Police say they orchestrated the burning of several homes. Officers are still hunting for other participants.

The Foothills Naga Co-ordination Committee hit back at the violence. The group highlighted the destruction of six abandoned homes and two schools, Cornerstone Mission School and Hope International School. They claim attackers looted the buildings and caused millions in damage.

The FNCC issued a statement describing the event as a "barbaric and unprovoked attack" that occurred near the Army 57 Mountain Division headquarters. The committee demanded the government and security forces track down every person responsible. They warned that local peace depends on strict accountability.
