V.S. Atem, the deputy ato kilonser, and R.H. Raising, a member of the Steering Committee, drew fire for their conduct. The Mungdang issued a formal press release through president Alemtoshi Imsong and general secretary T. Tiawapang. They demanded accountability. The leadership urged both NSCN (I-M) figures to "retract their statements in the interest of the Nagas."
