Guwahati: Members of the National Students Union of India staged a protest in Guwahati on Sunday to demand accountability for the recent cancellation of the NEET UG 2026 medical entrance exam. The demonstration followed widespread allegations of a paper leak, which has led to significant unrest among students nationwide.
NSUI National President Vinod Jakhar led the rally, accusing the government of failing to protect the integrity of the examination process. He described the alleged leak as a calculated conspiracy and claimed that students have been unfairly penalized by recurring issues with national testing standards. During the event, protesters called for the resignation of Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan, insisting that the government is failing to address collusion between officials and groups involved in illegal test tampering.
The organization plans to maintain its agitation until the government takes decisive action and ensures a transparent investigation. The student group is currently mobilizing participants across the country to voice concerns regarding broader irregularities within entrance and recruitment examinations. Advocates are now pushing for stricter safeguards to restore public confidence in the national testing system.
