Imphal: The National Socialist Council of Nagalim (NSCN-IM) has formally rejected allegations brought forth by the Kuki Inpi Manipur (KIM). In a rebuttal issued on June 5, 2026, the group described the recent statement from KIM as a systematic effort to distort facts and manipulate public perception regarding the ongoing regional situation.

The organization criticized these claims as lacking credible evidence, suggesting they are part of a recurring pattern used for propaganda. The NSCN-IM accused the Kuki group of weaponizing regional suffering to advance a political agenda. As the rebuttal stated, "KIM’s repeated attempts to weaponize the suffering of the dead and injured expose a cynical agenda that has become all too familiar. The statement is seen as nothing more than what they are: an opportunistic attempt to exploit human tragedy for political gain."

The NSCN-IM urged local media, authorities, and the public to scrutinize these claims and rely solely on verified information from impartial investigations. The group cautioned that persistent reliance on unsubstantiated narratives hinders efforts to restore peace and fosters deeper division among communities.

Meanwhile, separate condemnations have been issued regarding a violent incident at Loibol village in the Kangpokpi District, which resulted in the loss of three lives. Deputy Chief Minister Nemcha Kipgen and Saikul MLA Kimneo Hangshing publicly denounced the tragedy, emphasizing that such violence disrupts social harmony and threatens the collective pursuit of a secure future for all residents.
