NSCN (I-M) Imposes Presidential Rule in Wung Tangkhul Region

Kohima: The NSCN (I-M) has declared presidential rule in the Wung Tangkhul Region effective immediately. The leadership cited a breakdown in stability that made standard regional administration impossible. This directive was issued by the Yaruiwo under Article 3 of the Yehzabo of Nagalim following a comprehensive review by the National Security Council of the Government of the People’s Republic of Nagalim.

To manage the transition, the organization has formed a team of provisional authorities led by retired Major General Ramkathing Varah. This body assumes all administrative duties previously held by the Kilo Ministry. The NSCN (I-M) stated that this arrangement will remain in effect until the region returns to normal, requesting that civil society and the public support the new leadership to maintain peace.

In a separate action, the organization placed an immediate ban on the export of all goods, including petroleum products, toward Myanmar. This move aims to enforce stricter oversight along the border. According to the Ministry of Information and Publicity, the order titled “Strict Monitoring Along Indo-Myanmar Border” mandates that the Naga Army maintain round-the-clock surveillance across the frontier to ensure full compliance.
