Kohima: The Naga People's Front (NPF) Tseminyu division held a meeting at Tseminyu Town Hall on July 18. Party leaders gathered to demand an early, honourable, acceptable, and inclusive solution to the long-standing Naga political issue. The event, chaired by John Wanth, Associate Press Secretary, drew functionaries and workers from across the district and state.
Benjamin Lorin, Vice President, opened the floor by stressing the party's regional roots and the need for better women's representation in local government. He urged members to focus on Tseminyu district’s developmental hurdles. Former minister R. Khing pushed for unity across the Rengma region to help the party secure a decisive mandate. Ar. Loguseng Semp, a former candidate and Central Executive Council member, welcomed the merger of the Rising People's Party (RPP) into the NPF. Semp said the move "placed collective welfare above personal interests."
NIDC Chairman Kvulo Lorin highlighted the vision of Chief Minister and NPF president Neiphiu Rio to unite competing political factions. Additional speakers included Hyusin Thyug, Khwenhile Kent, Sokenye Kent, Ruth Thong, and Ndotsu Kent. Lydia Khing provided a special musical performance.
The Resolution Committee, led by convenor Satilo Kent, finalized a set of binding rules. The party officially endorsed the leadership of Neiphiu Rio and Secretary General Achumbemo Kikon. They also set firm boundaries for the next Assembly elections. Members are forbidden from promising party tickets, as all allocations will rely strictly on consensus. Any unauthorized pledges or violations of the party constitution will result in immediate disciplinary action.
