Niuland Officials Push for Dairy Growth and Infrastructure Upgrades

Kohima: Lok Sabha MP Supongmeren Jamir wants more cows in Niuland. During a Wednesday DISHA meeting, he pressed local departments to rethink the district's dairy sector. He pointed to the industry's untapped market potential and demanded a fresh look at expansion. Jamir said, "The purpose of the DISHA committee is to assess the achievements and challenges of departments in implementing various schemes and projects."

The meeting packed the Deputy Commissioner's Conference Hall. Officials from Agriculture, Water Resources, Veterinary, and Labour laid out their latest reports. Jamir listened to the updates and then called for a new cold storage facility. He ordered the district administration to draft a clear roadmap to support local farmers.

Poor mobile service also hit the agenda. Jamir promised to grill authorities over the district's spotty communication network. He pushed members to speak up about local problems. The committee will continue monitoring the rollout of government programs across the district.
