Shillong: Khliehriat MLA Kyrmen Shylla has officially opened an extended building for the District Rural Development Agency in Khliehriat. This project aims to bolster administrative infrastructure while streamlining the execution of rural development programs throughout the East Jaintia Hills district.

The construction was funded by the state government through the District and Rural Management and Enterprise Scheme for the 2025 to 2026 financial year. This specific initiative is designed to decentralize development efforts and provide the necessary institutional support for rural projects across Meghalaya.

During the opening ceremony, Shylla noted that the improved facilities will allow for better public service delivery and more efficient operations for local development initiatives. He reaffirmed his dedication to fostering inclusive growth and upgrading regional infrastructure. Officials in attendance included Deputy Commissioner Manish Kumar and Santa Mary Shylla.
