Kohima: BSW V Semester volunteers from the North East Institute of Social Sciences and Research (NEISSR) took to the streets on August 7. They spent the day repairing the road leading to their campus in Dimapur. The group tackled the project as part of the NSS Swachhata Pakhwada campaign. Students cleared trash, filled uneven road surfaces, and de-clogged drainage systems lining the entrance.
The NSS Unit at NEISSR organized the work to push for cleaner spaces and civic duty. Students used traditional tools to finish the job. It was hard labor. The effort highlighted the group's commitment to teamwork and their local community. Organizers noted the program helps students grasp that community growth demands active cooperation rather than just classroom study.
The volunteers lived out the National Service Scheme motto, "Not Me But You." This event fits into the institute's wider mission to build socially responsible professionals through hands-on service. The NSS Unit publicly praised the students for their enthusiasm and steady commitment throughout the maintenance activity.
