Kohima: Ninety-two local businesses gathered at the Capital Convention Centre in Kohima. They attended a two-day workshop on September 1 and 2 to sharpen their branding and marketing skills. The Department of Industries and Commerce teamed up with the Nagaland Industrial Development Corporation Ltd. to host the event. The training fell under the World Bank-backed Raising and Accelerating MSME Performance, or RAMP, scheme.
Participants learned how to boost product value and visibility. Keneirienuo T Zatsu, Deputy Director of the Department of Industries and Commerce, urged the group to apply the lessons to their daily work. Additional Director K Francis Hekavi noted that these skills are vital for success. He said, "The importance of effective packaging and branding in developing competitive, market-ready products" remained the core focus of the sessions.
Industry experts led the instruction. Aslam Ahmed and Jaydip Lahkar of Sigma Design India joined Aromica Tea founder Ranjit Baruah. CEO of Northeast Unexplored P Dhanabir Sharma also provided guidance. The group walked through hands-on activities, brand storytelling, and marketing tactics. The state aims to make local companies sustainable and competitive through these ongoing efforts.
