Agartala: A ten-person team from the Nagaland Department of New and Renewable Energy spent two days in Tripura. They tracked progress on solar initiatives. Led by Adviser Er. Picto Shohe, the group examined how Tripura runs its renewable programs. They focused heavily on the PM-KUSUM scheme.

The delegation toured multiple sites managed by the Tripura Renewable Energy Development Agency. They inspected solar water pumps, street lighting, and grid-connected power plants. At Tripura University, they saw a 500 kWp plant built under the RESCO model. They also visited a biogas facility at the Ramakrishna Mission Complex.

The visitors met with Tripura Power Minister Ratan Lal Nath to discuss regional cooperation. They later held talks with state officials about policy and project financing. Nagaland officials expressed admiration for how Tripura supports its residents. They noted the state’s success in rural electrification and sustainable irrigation.

The Nagaland delegation stated, "The effective financial and technical support extended to beneficiaries has contributed significantly to the successful implementation of renewable energy programmes."

Talks expanded to Tripura University, where the team met Vice-Chancellor Prof. Shyamal Das. They explored research and skill development. Both states hope this collaboration brings clean energy solutions to Nagaland.
