Kohima: Nagaland's Department of Health and Family Welfare is cracking down on staff attendance. Medical officers cannot leave their stations without getting written approval first. This move follows a departmental meeting held on May 14, 2026.
Chief Medical Officers and Medical Superintendents have extra hoops to jump through. They must notify the Deputy Commissioner of their district before they head out, even if they have already secured their official leave sanction. The department also demands that offices keep clear, organized records of all time off granted to personnel.
Leadership warned that breaking these rules will lead to consequences. "Any violation of the above instructions shall be viewed seriously and dealt with in accordance with applicable Government regulations," the department stated. Everyone must comply immediately.
