Kohima: Nagaland Governor Nand Kishore Yadav has ordered state departments to eliminate procedural bottlenecks that have prevented specially abled citizens from receiving essential government services. The directive followed a media report that exposed significant delays in the issuance of Unique Disability ID (UDID) cards.

Acting on the governor's instructions, the Departments of Social Welfare and Health and Family Welfare processed and issued long-pending cards to three applicants in the Peren district. The beneficiaries, identified as Kerehunglungle, Nchayi Kuame, and Keligumbe Hairangbuing, received their documentation on Friday.

The Raj Bhavan confirmed the governor has called for more efficient delivery of services to beneficiaries across the state. Officials are now coordinating with the Artificial Limbs Manufacturing Corporation of India to provide necessary assistive devices and support tailored to individual needs. Governor Yadav commended the two departments for their quick response and collaborative efforts in resolving the immediate cases.
