Kohima: Nagaland Governor Nand Kishore Yadav met with the Department of Women Resource Development in Kohima on July 6. He scrutinized ongoing projects meant to lift up women across the state. The list includes the Transformative Livelihood Intervention Project, skill building, and various entrepreneurship programs.
The department pitched a new Myki Hub at the Naga Heritage Village in Kisama. This permanent marketplace for artisans and farmers should finish by November 2026. Funding comes through the Chief Minister's Innovative Programme Fund.
Officials also updated the Governor on building hostels for working women in several districts. These projects rely on the Special Assistance to States for Capital Investment initiative. Expansion of resource centers and better market access remain primary goals.
The department laid its cards on the table. Staffing shortages and tight budgets are dragging progress. They noted that the agency needs "greater support to expand programmes aimed at improving the livelihoods of women throughout the State."
Yadav praised the department for pushing entrepreneurship. He told them to team up with other government branches to maximize results. Success depends on smarter cooperation and steady economic growth for women.
